(really two separate issues.) two substance misuse and alcohol nurses in post -one at glangwili - already making an impact. i've managed to cover most of the issues and highlighted the need for more effective communication with the public. cihs will naturally be on the stakeholders list. merry christmas and a happy new year to you all for 2015 nadolig llawen a blwyddyn newydd dda 25/09/2014 the front of house project details are here!!! the clinicians at p p h now have announced the methods of delivery for the "front of house": these plans will be presented to the uhb in the autumn and the implementation team and clinicians are hopeful they will be approved acute patients will by-pass the general emergency reception area and be admitted directly to the separate emergency medical unit, where they will have immediate access to a consultant the general emergency care will be provided by a team of personnel including: a. a medical registrar available 24/7 on site b. a lead consultant available 24/7, on site 12/7, on call 12/7 on a 1 in 10 rota c. 3 or 4 junior doctors available 24/7 on site in the emergency medical unit d. a robust 24/7 emergency nurse practitioner rota will be implemented e. a gp with additional training in emergency care available 24/7 on site f. a specialist psychiatric team available 24/7 to address mental health issues and initiate multi-agency support, if necessary g. an alcohol liaison nurse available 24/7 to address alcohol and substance misuse issues and initiate multi-agency support if necessary h. rapid access for elderly and frail patients to an enhanced and expanded fraility service for holistict treatment of any underlying issues relating to their admission, involving mult-agency support if necessary the current "out of hours" gp service will continue to operate independently. 24/09/2014 this jr is finished no further action will be taken.
